Two children, somewhere in this world will not have to sleep on a cold earth floor again thanks to the participants of this MLR motorcycle charity ride. A great big thank you to all the participants and we hope to see them out again next year so we can build on this success, bringing more bedkits to kids throughout the world.

This being the first charity ride hosted by MLR, It
was a great success from which to build upon. Next
year, we will have more riders, corporate donations,
pledges and prizes for the participants. The riders alone donated the  money for the 2008 SCAW bedkits
and a big thank for their generosity on behalf of MLR,SCAW and ultimately, the children who will
receive these bedkits.

About SCAW

Sleeping Children Around The World (SCAW) is a charitable organization that was founded in 1970 by Murray Dryden, the father of former Montreal Goaltender Ken Dryden. One night while travelling in India, Murray tripped over a child sleeping on the street. A man of ideas, he decided that he must and would do something for children who had no comfortable bed. He couldn't feed the world, or alleviate hunger, but he believed a good nights sleep could make a hungry child's life more comfortable. Murray was a champion for children in developing countries, primarily because they have no welfare systems, no Medicare, and often little or no hope for a future. Thus, with a strong desire to help others and a firm belief that with God nothing is impossible, Sleeping Children Around the World was begun in 1970, with a distribution of fifty bedkits in Pune, India.
