Today, we had great weather for riding the motorcycle and Wanda and I left St. John's at 9:00 for Southwest Arm, Trinity Bay. We visited every community on both sides of the South West Arm and traveled 483 km in total by the time we returned home. My favorite place was Little Heart's Ease West and it was the place Wanda and I decided to stop for a picnic lunch. You can see some of the photos at the photo gallery link to the left. I am not sure where our next ride will take us but It will be on Thursday if the weather cooperates. We have traveled in excess of 1100 km in three days and we have only just begun our three week motorcycle riding adventure. Sunny skies and its a no brain'r that it will be a ride day.L8RMervynMLR Online
Not a great ride day with respect to the weather but we completed our trip around Random Island, Trinity Bay, today. We left St. John's at 9:00 Am with sunny skies and 19 degrees but Southern Harbour and Sunnyside provided the rain, fog and cold which is not uncommon for that narrow piece of land between Trinity Bay and Placentia Bay.Highway riding is far more grueling than the rural roads and 500 km was a little exhausting too say the least, I guess we don't stop as often as we should. In any event, this is another area of the province crossed of the list of places to ride.MervynMLR
After a long cold and wet spring, this week provided us with temperatures in the low 20's and that is refreshing. It has Been such a great week, I have done very little writing and website updating, replacing it with riding. The riding season is too short not to get out every opportunity that we can.I am still riding high and full of pride for all the great people who showed up for the 1st annual Ride for Seniors. We have not received the final tally but indications are that we all raised approximately $3000.00 for the Seniors of this province. What a great success and place to build from as we go forward.MLR has the SCAW Excursion around the bay on July 12, 2008 and if anyone would like to find out more, please check the charity rides link here on the website of contract us at midliferiders@gmail.com.See you on the open road.MervynMLR
