As the wind gust to 120 km per hour and the snow flies through the air, I cant help but think that I will not get another ride before I put the beast away for another season. I am holding off until Oct 31, 2009 to see if I can get a trick or treat ride in and then it's an appointment with Heavy Metal Cycles for the oil change. After that, a cleaning ,cover and hook up the battery tender for the long cold winter.
That in mind, any biker that cant picture themselves living in Florida is not a real biker!!! I hate to put the vulcan away and with 157 days to spring, I can see depression setting in real soon. I see meds in the not so distant future..

The sun goes down quick this time of year, it was dark at 7:00 PM. All in all, it was still a great evening ride. I guess realistically, we should not expect to get too many more rides in before we have to give in to the late fall weather but I am putting off changing the oil and putting the battery on trickle charge for a while yet, maybe until mid November.
With the first sign of Sun since last week, I thought that I would see more riders out this evening but with the exception of some GWRRA crew and an odd cruiser there were not a lot of bikes on the road. Well, as it stands now the forecast for Saturday is looking ok, albeit a little cool. May I will get another coffee run to Bay Roberts if the weather holds up.

I drove to Gander today to pick up my limited edition Vilcan 2000 and although I got caught in a couple showers, it was actually a pleasent ride with temps reaching 21 degrees. As for my new set of wheels, in one word; WOW. I had no idea what 2053 cc would feel like and today, well lets just say it was AMAZING.
I can't wait to get back on the open road for a couple of nice fall rides around the bays. Hope the weather holds up this weekend so I cant do a couple hundred k's.
