I never thought that I would get a weekend of riding in November but that was the case this past weekend. I put over 200 km of the Vulcan this past weekend and glad that I did not change the oil out last week as I had planed. I have to clean the bike one more time and then do the winterizing process and call it a season. I have been saying this since the beginning of October. I'm pushing the envelope this year.

I don't normally consider 35 kilometers much of a ride but with the weather that we have been having and the onset of freezing temperatures, it may be all that I will get in for 2009. With a new motorcycle and no time left to ride, I am feeling a little cheated and the thoughts of covering my ride up for 5 or six months is causing me a great deal of grief.
I know that I have to accept that the 2009 riding season is drawing to a close and focus on the countdown to the 2010 riding season. I am truly looking forward to 2010 and with plans for a couple of long trips including one to Gros Morne and the other to the mainland, quite possibly Maine, it may be my best ride season yet. Winterizing my Vulcan is a little easier to swallow when I think about it in those terms. Soon the Winter of 2010 will be just a memory and I will be uncovering the Vulcan, hitting the start button and rumble my way out of the garage for my first ride of the new season.
I need to bite the bullet, get the Vulcan's oil changed, fuel stabilized, shined, covered and battery placed on the tender charge, I am officially done with 2009. Hmmmmmmmm, but what if !!!!

Time is running our for another motorcycle ride but if I get a sunny day, I will grab the opportunity and take my last ride of the season even if that means I have to wear a snowsuit. The weather has been terrible, rain for the better part of 3 weeks and it is finally starting to play havoc with my last ounce of patience.
Whatever the next two weeks provides will be the only window available to get that last ride of the season in and over with. After that, I have to call for my oil change appointment and then I am done no matter what the weather throws at me.
Well, if we get sun and 12 in Novermber, I will take her out again and pay for another oil change !!! lol
